Sri Lanka has witnessed a steady rise in motor vehicle population, with an 8% increase from 6.3 million registered vehicles in 2015 to 6.8 million registered vehicles in 2016, as reported by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The South Asian country recorded an average growth rate of 6.07% from 2003-2016, and the GDP per capita in Colombo hit US$ 3,800 in 2016. The improvement in household income is anticipated to drive up sales and boost demand in the auto and auto aftermarket industry.
LANKAAUTO 2018 – Sri Lanka’s 1st Major International Auto and Auto Aftermarket Exhibition is launched to provide a marketing platform for auto, auto parts, accessories and service and repair equipment manufacturers and suppliers to meet face-to-face with buyers and business owners. Scheduled to be held from 24 - 26 August 2018 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre in Colombo, the Expo is expected to showcase over 100 international brands with Pavilions from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and China.
